GridAI introduces a novel end-to-end solution for the management and analysis of big data primary or secondarily related to the electricity domain, coming from diverse sources (data APIs, historical data, statistics, sensor / IoT data, weather data, energy market data and various other open data sources) to help DSOs to simultaneously achieve the effective and interoperable management of the data they own, increase their data reach through the integration of external data that are required for driving operational decisions (e.g. weather data, energy market data, etc) and blend them together towards improving their internal intelligence and driving evident decision-making for the resilient operation of the distribution grid by stepping on accurate AI-based demand and generation forecasts across varying spatial and temporal resolutions. In GridAI, unveiling the intelligence emerging from the distribution grid data assets that carry valuable electricity-related information requires a novel approach that bears 3 Core Services Bundles tailored to the electricity domain: (i) Energy Data Collection Services Bundle (Data Ingestion, Curation and Mapping to a comprehensive Energy Data Model); (ii) Energy Data Security Services Bundle, that is responsible for safeguarding and securing any data asset that becomes available in the GridAI solution; and (iii) Data Analytics Services Bundle that essentially allows for exploratory data analysis, designing and executing analytics workflows (alternative demand and generation forecasting pipelines addressing different spatio-temporal resolutions), and running AI analytics to generate new insights and knowledge.
