RESPED

Enabling Energy Resilience through new energy flexible and affordable Positive Energy District (PED) concepts

Suite5 in RESPED

Suite5 leads the development of interoperable data management and AI-enabled decision support solutions in RESPED, enabling evidence-based assessment and operation of resilient and flexible Positive Energy Districts.

About the project

RESPED is a European research and innovation project that aims to enable energy-resilient, flexible and socially inclusive Positive Energy Districts (PEDs) by advancing new concepts, methodologies and digital decision-support tools for urban energy systems. The project addresses the growing complexity and vulnerability of urban energy environments by moving beyond traditional energy-positive targets and focusing on resilience, affordability and citizen-centric operation under both normal and stressed conditions. RESPED develops systemic approaches that integrate energy flexibility, self-sufficiency, and social considerations, supported by data-driven and AI-enabled analytics, to support informed decision-making by PED stakeholders. Through the validation of these approaches in real-life urban contexts, RESPED aims to deliver transferable frameworks and practical solutions that allow cities to plan, assess and operate PEDs as adaptive socio-technical systems capable of strengthening energy system resilience while contributing to sustainability and social equity objectives.
